چکیده

abstract background: nitric oxide (no) is a molecule that incorporates in many physiological processes of female reproductive system. recent studies suggested the possible role of endothelial isoform of nitric oxide synthase (enos) enzyme in female infertility. objective: the aim of this study is to evaluate the expression of endothelial nitric oxide synthase in endometrial tissue of women with unexplained infertility. materials and methods: in this case-control study a total of 18 endometrial tissues obtained from 10 women with unexplained infertility and 8 normal and fertile women by endometrial biopsy, 6 to 10 days after lh surge. specimens were fixed in 4% paraformaldhyde fixative and frozen sectioned for semi-quantitative immunohistochemical evaluation using monoclonal anti-human enos antibody. hematoxilin and eosin was used for histological dating. results: localization of endothelial nitric oxide synthase was seen in glandular and luminal epithelium, vascular endothelium and stroma in both fertile women and women with unexplained infertility. although there were differences in immunoreactivity of glandular epithelium (p=0.44), vascular endothelium (p=0.60) and stroma (p=0.63) but only over-expression of enos in luminal epithelium (p=0.045) of women with unexplained infertility compared to fertile women was statistically significant (p<0.05). conclusion: this study suggests that changes in luminal expression of enos may influence receptivity of endometrium.

Immunohistochemical localization of endothelial nitric oxide synthase in endometrial tissue of women with unexplained infertility

BACKGROUND Nitric oxide (NO) is a molecule that incorporates in many physiological processes of female reproductive system. Recent studies suggested the possible role of endothelial isoform of nitric oxide synthase (eNOS) enzyme in female infertility. OBJECTIVE The aim of this study is to evaluate the expression of endothelial nitric oxide synthase in endometrial tissue of women with unexplai...

P-235: No Association of Endothelial Nitric Oxide Synthase (eNOS) -786T/C Polymorphism with Unexplained Recurrent Abortion in Iranian Women

Background: This is a case-control study to determine the relationship between endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS) gene -786T/C polymorphism in women with unexplaiend recurrent abortion in comparison with healty women.Materials and Methods: 95 women with history of at least 2 unexplaiend recurrent abortion in the reproductive age range 20-35 years as patients group and 95 healty women (age...

Overexpression of Endometrial Estrogen Receptor-Alpha in The Window of Implantation in Women with Unexplained Infertility

Objective Background: Failure in the endometrial receptivity may account for a significant number of infertility cases including unexplained infertility in women. Reduction in the endometrial estrogen receptor-alpha (ER-α) expression during window of implantation may be a critical event that coincides with expression of specific genes and providing a receptive endometrium. The aim of present st...

Immunohistochemical localization of endothelial and inducible nitric oxide synthase within neurons of cattle with rabies.

The expression of constitutive endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS) and inducible NOS (iNOS) in the brains of cattle with natural rabies was studied. Increased expression of eNOS was detected in neurons of the brain stem and Purkinje cells of cerebellum. By contrast, iNOS was diffusely localized in the cytoplasm of affected neurons, and some inflammatory cells were positive. eNOS and rabies...

Association of endothelial nitric oxide synthase gene G894T polymorphism with type two diabetes and diabetic nephropathy

Background: Nitric oxide (NO) produced by endothelial NO synthase (eNOS) mediates a large range of processes, and abnormality in the production of NO has been implicated in diabetic complications including diabetic nephropathy (DN). G894T polymorphism in the eNOS gene has been shown to decreased activity the NO levels of plasma. The association between eNOS Glu298Asp gene polymorphism and DN ri...

EXPRESSION OF INDUCIBLE NITRIC OXIDE SYNTHASE GENE (iNOS) STIMULATED BY HYDROGEN PEROXIDE IN HUMAN ENDOTHELIAL CELLS

Inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) gene expresses a calcium calmudolin-independent enzyme which can catalyse NO production from L-arginine. The induction of iNOS activity has been demonstrated in a wide variety of cell types under stimulation with cytokines and lipopoly saccharide (LPS). Previous studies indicated that all nitric oxide synthases (NOS) activated in human umbilical vein endot...
